A new blow
Cancer
Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer early in 2014. The lump was removed and chemotherapy started soon after the operation. This time mum was very calm, very pragmatic, she just got on with it, said there was nothing she could do but to keep going and do whatever the doctors said she had to do.
I privately wondered if the shoulder operation had caused the cancer. Has any research been done on the subject, I have looked but can't see anything written.
The treatment was easy for her to deal with, she seemed to have so few side effects, tiredness, hair loss but none of the other debilitating affects this treatment can have on the body. The only blot was that she needed another op, seems they hadn't taken enough away the first time. Again mum dealt with all of this as if it was happening to someone else, she had a very calm approach.
During this time mums memory issues were manageable. Occasionally Dad would raise his eyes to the ceiling if she repeated herself or did something odd. We never tackled the subject apart from one conversation around whether she was like grandad or if it was something worse, it never went any further than that.
